Super Eagles winger Moses Simon has been declared the August Player of the Month for French Lig 1 side Nantes following an outstanding start to the season.

Simon started this new season after returning from a lengthy injury that kept him out of action for the second half of the previous campaign. 

However, the Nigerian winger has marked his return with impressive performances, as he begins the new season in massive form.

The winger has now been awarded the August player of the month award for Nantes.

The Nigerian international has been immense for the Canaries so far this season, scoring vital goals to help the team get off to a flying start.

Nantes revealed Simon’s accomplishment, On their official website, stating, “You have designated Moses Simon, scorer against AJ Auxerre and on the Mosson pitch in Montpellier, as the ‘Canary of the Month’ for August 2024!”

The 28-year-old forward had 43% of the fan vote, beating  teammates Nathan Zézé, Alban Lafont, and Matthis Abline to award.

Simon will officially accept his award On Sunday, September 15, 2024, before Nantes’s next home match against Stade de Reims.

Since making a comeback, the Super Eagles star has been performing exceptionally well. In three league games in August against Auxerre and Montpellier, he scored two goals.

Simon, currently on international duties is among the Super Eagles squad selected to feature for Nigeria in their AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic and Rwanda.
