Former Blues midfielder John Obi Mikel has hinted at Victor Osimhen’s transfer move to Chelsea next year.
Recall, Osimhen’s deadline transfer to Chelsea broke down due to some undisclosed reasons, which eventually led to his loan move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
Mikel Obi, who has been a long time advocate of the 25-year-old striker moving to his former club believes the Blues could still make a move for his countryman in the January transfer window.

Speaking on The Obi One Podcast, the former Super Eagles captain said,
“Definitely there are no issues. I think if we have to pick this back up again like I said, whenever it is, January or next summer, we know where we are, we know where we’ve stopped, and it’s just little details that need to be finalised and the deal will be done.”
Sports Buddy also revealed in other news that Mikel Obi disclosed that Victor Osimhen regrets not joining Chelsea in the just-closed transfer window.
While praising the current African Player of the Year for his qualities, the former Super Eagles captain, revealed one thing the Blues lack in attack, which may come as a shade at Nicolas Jackson, who was recently involved in an online spat with the club legend.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is currently on international duties with the Super Eagles. Having come on as a substitute to score for Nigeria in the AFCON qualifiers against Benin Republic, the new-Galatasaray man will be looking to continue with this impressive performance against Rwanda and carry on the momentum to his new club after the international break.
