The Rwanda vs Nigeria clash ended in a goalless draw as the Super Eagles failed to secure a win in their second AFCON qualifier game on Tuesday.
Augustine Eguaveon’s men kicked off their AFCON qualifier campaign with a resounding 3-0 win over Benin Republic during the weekend but could not replicate their impressive performance against Rwanda in Kigali.
Despite coming close on several occasions, the Super Eagles failed to score a goal, with Victor Boniface’s strike striking the woodwork in the first half.

The decision did not go down well with Nigerians, who took to social media to express dissatisfaction, with many claiming their team was robbed.
One said, ”Daylight big robbery”
Another replied, ”They robbed us.”
Another wrote,”The referee should not go scot free! @thenff should make sure to petition him against @CAF_Online.”
A fourth commented, ”Sad politics, can’t caf and everybody investigate pple like this for an outcome.”
A fifth said, ”Very poor officiating. That is never a foul. Ajayi was clear favourite for the ball because of his height.”
With the draw, the Super Eagles have taken four points from a possible six, and will now continue their AFCON qualification campaign with a home and away fixture against Libya in October.
