Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has responded to the recent comments made by Cristiano Ronaldo about the club’s hunger.
Ronaldo, currently with Al-Nassr, was on the “Rio Ferdinand Presents” podcast, where he questioned Ten Hag’s mentality of expecting United’s coach to have his sights set on competing in tournaments such as the English Premier League or UEFA Champions League.

Ronaldo’s Concerns About United’s Ambition
During the podcast organised by Ferdinand, Cristiano Ronaldo pointed out that a club of the magnitude of Manchester United should always strive to clinch prestigious trophies.
Speaking of the expectations and goals, Ronaldo said that they cannot state they will not fight for winning the Premier League or the Champions League, even if it is not there.
He also said that Manchester United requires a new stadium to reclaim its lost glory at Old Trafford.

When asked about Ronaldo’s criticism, Ten Hag waved it off: “So, he’s far away in Saudi Arabia, far from Manchester. Everyone is entitled to have an opinion. It’s OK.”

He also said, ‘Everyone is entitled to have an opinion; it is ok.’ However, while accepting Ronaldo’s sentiment, Ten Hag is unperturbed with his work at United, pointing out that they are still in a transition period and they are still gradually integrating young players into the team.
The Dutchman also reaffirmed his desire to win, as he stated that Manchester United is not ready for the Premier League yet, but he is determined to make it to every match.
