Victor Osimhen will surprisingly miss Galatasaray’s next game against Gaziantep this Tuesday and the club has provided an explanation to this development.
The 25-year-old striker made his debut for The Lion at Rams Park, where he provided an assist as the team recorded a convincing 5-0 win over Rizespor last weekend.
But the Nigerian striker, who was seen climbing up the stands to celebrate with fans after the win, will not have the opportunity to showcase himself once again in front of the home crowd this midweek.
Galatasaray give reason from Victor Osimhen exclusion
Galatasaray revealed this in a statement on their website on Monday, while also giving reasons for his exclusion.
“Victor Osimhen, Ismail Jakobs and Roland Sallai, who were transferred after the postponement date, will not be in the squad due to the status,” the statement explained vis The Sun.
The game was scheduled for matchday three, but it was postponed. Osimhen, Jakobs, and Sallai were not registered at that time, making them ineligible to take part in the game.
Osimhen will therefore have to wait for his next Galatasaray outing.
Next weekend, the former Lille man will face his first big test in the Süper Lig when Fenerbahçe, led by Jose Mourinho, who recently reveals what he dislikes about the striker, takes on Galatasaray at Şükrü Saracoğlu Stadium.
