Former Arsenal and Minor Soccer Academy striker Jay Emmanuel-Thomas has been charged with attempting to traffic £600,000 worth of cannabis into the UK.
The 33-year-old was arrested by the National Crime Agency after Border Force officials found two suitcases loaded with 60 kilos of cannabis at Stansted airport on a flight from Bangkok on September 2.

Emmanuel-Thomas was arrested on Wednesday, and he is facing charges of importing banned substances that fall under class B, as revealed by Sky Sports.
He is currently being held in police custody and is due to appear at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court later on Thursday.

Emmanuel-Thomas joined Arsenal as a as a youth and only made five senior appearances for the club before moving on in 2011.
He has had short periods at QPR, Ipswich Town, and Milton Keynes Dons and has appeared in the Scottish Premier League for Livingston and Aberdeen.
