What Rodri said before Agonizing injury that has got fans talking
Rodri has suffered a tear to his Anterior cruciate ligament in the Premier League meeting with Arsenal on Sunday and is expected to miss the rest of the season.
The Manchester City midfielder is a crucial player for both club and his country, helping the latter to the UEFA European Championship trophy in the summer, on the back of a good spell with his club, where they won the Premier League and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Rodri, a Baloon D’or favourite has played almost 70 games since the start of last season and just last week, he complained about the increased games due to the new UEFA Champions League format.
What Rodri said before ACL injury
Speaking ahead of the UEFA Champions League draw with Inter at the Ethiad on Wednesday, the Spaniard said:
“I think we’re close to that [going on a strike] It’s the general opinion of the players, and if it keeps this way, we’ll have no other option. I really think it’s something that worries us. We are the guys who suffer.”
Rodri recently returned to action after 55 days since playing and getting injured in the Euros final to his second-half cameo in the win over Brentford some ten days ago, and is not set to miss the rest of the season.
