Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca believes his Chelsea side is progressing in a faster space than anticipated after seven games into the season.

The Blues has won four games so far, including three in the league, which leaves them on ten points and places fifth on the league standings. They’ve also scored ten goals, number bettered by only Manchester City.

Chelsea also won their UEFA Conference League qualification tie over Swiss side Servette 3-2 on aggregate, ensuring their progress to the group stages of the competition.

Speaking ahead of the visit of League Two side Barrow in the Carabao Cup round three clash at the Stamford Bridge on Tuesday night, Enzo Maresca said;

“We’re ahead of where we expected to be today. Not in terms of results but the way the team are progressing and playing. We need to learn many, many things and we need to improve many things. The important thing is… we are going in the right direction.”

The former Leicester City boss is surely enjoying the start to his Chelsea career and will hope to continue having it that way in the coming weeks. Picking up a win against a League Two side shouldn’t be farfetched so tonight presents another opportunity to thrill the home fans.
