A Spanish football fan has been sentenced to a year in prison for racial abuse of former Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze and Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior during two different La Liga matches, according to reports from Goal.

The offender hurled foul insults at Vinicius. On February 5, 2023, as Real Madrid was losing 1-0 to Mallorca, before doing the same two weeks later to Chukwueze, then playing for Villarreal, in Mallorca’s 4-2 victory on February 18.
The individual was sentenced by the Spanish court to six-month sentences for each incident. and also received a three-year stadium ban.
This comes after three Valencia supporters were sentenced to eight-month jail terms for similar offenses against the Brazilian forward, who filed a complaint about the situation, which was investigated by the Spanish Football Association.
The Real Madrid star recently underlined that until racism is addressed head-on, Spain shouldn’t be the host nation for the 2030 World Cup.
He is unwavering in his resolve to combat discrimination in football.
Meanwhile, Chukwueze moved to AC Milan from Spain last year, and in his 38 games with the San Siro giants, he has three goals and three assists.
