Super Eagles’ striker Victor Boniface has boldly predicted that Ademola Lookman will not win the African Player of the Year award.
Having an outstanding first campaign with Bayer Leverkusen, the versatile Boniface scored 21 goals while adding 10 assists, playing an important role in the team’s acquisition of both the Bundesliga and the DFB Pokal titles.

Even with his victory, Boniface did not achieve success in the UEFA Europa League final, where Ademola Lookman’s hattrick saw Atalanta emerge as champions.
Lookman’s superb performances during the season resulted in a Ballon d’Or nomination.
Nonetheless, having heard from his manager Xabi Alonso to model his game after Didier Drogba, Boniface believes the African Player of the Year award truly belongs to him, not Lookman.
It’s ‘probably’ a tie between myself and Lookman. “I rate myself that high, so I will go for myself as the African Footballer of the Year,” he expressed to SportyTV.
The Premier League Goals of Osimhen

In addition, Boniface spoke about Victor Osimhen’s longing to play in the Premier League amid rumours surrounding a possible move to Chelsea in the summer transfer period.
“Osimhen has a strong mentality. “I know he really longs to join the Premier League,” Boniface mentioned, also sharing that they had discussed this topic.
Victor Boniface’s thoughts on Saudi Arabia.

In response to the speculation regarding Osimhen’s potential transfer to Saudi Arabia, Boniface spoke directly to the speculations.
“There are particulars that people are not aware of.” As I mentioned before, I’m not entertaining the idea of Saudi Arabia,” he said, playing down the notion of playing in the Saudi Pro League.
Victor Boniface has kept up his excellent play for Bayer Leverkusen this season, adding 4 goals and an assist in six appearances.
