Samuel Chukwueze could be on his way out of AC Milan, as interest from top European clubs grows ahead of the January transfer window.
Atletico Madrid, along with Premier League sides West Ham United and Aston Villa, are reportedly keen on securing the Nigerian winger’s signature, as he struggles for regular playing time in Italy.

Reports from Les-transferts suggest that these clubs are ready to make a move for Chukwueze this winter. The 25-year-old joined AC Milan from Villarreal last year, after impressing in Spain, where he played a key role in helping Villarreal win the UEFA Europa League.
However, life in Milan hasn’t been as smooth. Samuel Chukwueze has found it difficult to break into the starting lineup, and with his contract running until June 2028, he might be considering a fresh start sooner rather than later. A January transfer seems to be on the horizon, especially with clubs lining up to offer him a way out.
This season, the Super Eagles star has only made six appearances in Serie A, totaling just 148 minutes of action. For a player AC Milan invested heavily in, paying €20 million plus €8 million in bonuses, it’s clear things haven’t gone according to plan.
Speaking about Chukwueze’s struggles, Paulo Fonseca offered some insight during a press conference:
“He had a very good pre-season when he had space against big teams. When we arrived here, against Torino and Lazio, I think Chukwueze was not as good as in the pre-season.”
Fonseca further explained,
“It’s not a problem of quality but of confidence. He needs to gain confidence and play in this context: in Serie A he has no space, he has to make movements at the right time.”
