2025 AFCON Qualifiers : Star defender adds to Victor Osimhen injury scare ahead October games
Super Eagles have another injury doubt ahead of the upcoming AFCON qualifiers against Libya as there are rising concerns over the fitness of Orlando Pirates defender Olisa Ndah.
Austin Eguavoen already has the situation of Victor Osimhen to worry about but as if that is now enough a worry, Ndah could also be sidelined for the games.
The 26-year-old missed his club’s 1-0 victory away to Richards Bay on Sunday and his coach Jose Riveiro confirmed that the defender, as well as well as teammate Monnapule Saleng missed the trip due to injuries.

Amidst the speculations that both players were rested ahead of the MTN8 final against Stellenbosch next Saturday, Riveiro clarified that the duo were nursing injuries and may even miss the upcoming final as well. Riveiro stated;
“In our last game against Polokwane City, both Ndah and Monnapule Saleng were subbed because of different injuries. We’re not 100% sure that they will be available for the final.”
A potential absence from the Super Eagles’ squad for the next international break will be a much bigger blow for the player than for the team, as he is just making his way back into the team after a couple of years away.
The former Akwa United and Remo Stars defender impressed on his cameo against Benin Republic and will hope to regain fitness in time, to make Austin Eguavoen’s list for upcoming games against Libya in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.
