Ademola Lookman scores and stars under the lights in the UEFA Champions League

Ademola Lookman continues to impress for Atalanta as he delivered a masterclass performance in the first-half to help his side establish a 2-0 lead away to Shakhtar Donesk in the UEFA Champions League.

The 26-year-old assisted the first goal, which was scored by teammate Berat Djimsiti, who connected with Lookman’s cross, controlled before blasting into the net, following a short free-kick in the 21st minute.

Lookman doubled the lead with a neat finish inside the box after a lovely play by Atalanta, with the Super Eagles man in the heart of it.

The goal was his first-ever in the competition, and on his third appearance. Lookman already made his Champions League debut with RB Leipzig during the 2019-20 season.

By scoring and also assisting, Ademola Lookman became only the second player in the history of Atalanta to do so in a single UEFA Champions League game after Duvan Zapata, who achieved the feat twice.

Raoul Bellanova made it 3-0 three minutes after the restart, while Lookman was withdrawn on the hour mark to keep him refreshed for the weekend game against Genoa.
