Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali disappointed after transfer snub

Chippa United and Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali explains why his proposed move did not go through during the just-closed transferred window.
Following his standout performances at the 2023 AFCON, where Nigeria finished as runners-up, Nwabali was expected to secure a move to a larger club.
Unfulfilled Chances and Future Expectations
Though there were indications of some interests, including Kaizer Chiefs, no deal was signed, and the club opted for Rwandan-based Fiacre Ntwari as a goalkeeper.
In an interview with iDiski Times via Brila, Stanley Nwabali expressed resilience regarding the situation:
“I wouldn’t say I was really affected by what happened after last season and after the AFCON because it’s football.
It can be effective, and it can be the complete opposite. However, one thing is certain, and that is that while there are deals, there are also deal breakups. the goalkeeper admitted.

Stanley Nwabali Focused on Club Success
Nwabali has also remained Chippa United’s key performer after signing him by remaining Nigeria’s first-choice goalkeeper.
In a recent report from Sportsbuddy, the best goalkeeper at the just concluded Afcon lauded the Super Eagles shot-stopper as the best goalkeeper in the world.
They have been pivotal in the club translating into form in the current South African Premier Division season, where the club is placed fourth with seven points below Mamelodi Sundowns.
With Nwabali back to his best, Chippa United seems well capable of achieving its goal of a good run at the end of the season.
