Victor Boniface made history on Saturday as he scored the fastest goal of his Bundesliga career.
The Nigerian striker opened the scoring for Bayer Leverkusen in their 2-2 draw with Holstein Kiel, netting the ball just four minutes into the match. This surpassed his previous record of nine minutes, set earlier this season.

Boniface reacts after game

“I’m really happy to have scored the earliest goal of my Bundesliga career,” Boniface said after the match.
“It was a great team effort. We started the move from our own half and everyone contributed to the goal.”
He also had another goal disallowed for offside in the first half. Despite his impressive performance, Leverkusen were unable to hold on to their lead and dropped points for the third time this season.
“We’re disappointed with the result,” Boniface admitted. “We had a good start, but we need to be more clinical in front of goal.”
With four goals in six Bundesliga games, Boniface is on track to match his goal tally from last season, where he scored 14 goals and provided nine assists.
