Ahmed Musa returned for his third stint with the four-time NPFL champions after being without a club after his contract with Turkish side Sivasspor was terminated on mutual agreement earlier this year.
The Super Eagles captain recently returned to Kano Pillars, having previously played for the club from 2009-2010 and in 2021.
Sunday’s game against Sunshine Stars was Musa’s first game this year.
Despite making it to Jose Peseiro’s AFCON 2023 squad, the winger failed to make a single appearance for the Super Eagles in the tournament, as the three-time African champions emerged runners up following a 2-1 defeat to hosts Ivory Coast.
Also, Musa did not make it into the Super Eagles squad since then, and has also been excluded from Augustine Eguavoen’s list of players to take on Libya in a two-legged tie this October.
