Olisa Ndah wins a historical third straight MTN8 Cup trophy with Orlando Pirates
Super Eagles defender Olisa Ndah was on the end of a remarkable win on Saturday as his Orlando Pirates side clinched the MTN8 Cup after beating Stellenbosch 3-1 in the final.
The Soweto based club continues their impressive start to the season by winning the trophy for a third straight year and 13th overall, leaving only Mamelodi Soundowns as the club to have won more in history, with 15.
The win also saw them become the first-ever club in history to win the MTN8 Cup title in three consecutive seasons.

Orlando Pirates had a tough run to the final, needing two extra time goals to beat Supersport United 3-1 in the quarter finals, while the semi final demanded a replay, after drawing 1-1 away to Cape Town City before winning the second leg 2-0 to seal a 3-1 aggregate win.

The final was also not as smoot as the result implies as they had to come from a goal down to win 3-1 thanks to the impact of their substitutes Tshegofatso Mabasa and Relebohile Mofenko, who combined for the two goals, with each getting a goal and assist, after Monnapule Saleng had scored to cancel out Mojela’s early strike.
Olisa Ndah scored, wins a third straight MTN8 Cup trophy with Orlando Pirates
Super Eagles Defender and Orlando Pirates captain Olisa Ndah had played every minute in the run to the final but missed out in yesterday’s win due to an injury, which had ruled out of action since he was taken off in the 3-0 win over Polokwane a few weeks ago.

He was however involved in the celebration at full-time. Ndah will also miss Super Eagles’ upcoming games against Libya due to the injury.
Ndah has now won six titles with Orlando Pirates since his move to the club from Akwa United in 2022.
