Real Madrid’s season has been plagued by a series of injuries, and Saturday night’s 2-0 win over Villarreal added two more blows to their already battered squad.
Spanish full-back Dani Carvajal was stretchered off after colliding with Yeremy Pino in attempting to clear the ball, suffering a serious knee injury.
Madrid are without a major defensive gap and the injury is expected to keep Carvajal out for an extended period.
Vinicius Jr. Suffers Neck Injury
Adding to the concern, star winger Vinicius Jr., who scored Madrid’s second goal with a stunning top-corner strike, was also confirmed to have sustained a neck injury during the match according to El Chringuito.

However, the Brazilian’s injury comes at a time when he remains a strong favourite to win the Ballon d’Or.
Real Madrid will hope that their star forward can recover during the international break return to fitness.
It’s another long list of sidelined Madrid players including Thibaut Courtois and David Alaba.
