Former Udinese striker German Denis recently gave his opinion over Victor Osimhen’s departure from Napoli, asserting Romelu Lukaku is a better fit for Conte’s team than the Super Eagles forward.
Osimhen was highly touted to join one of Europe’s premier teams last summer, but a move failed to materialize, and he was frozen out of the club while they brought in Lukaku as his replacement.
Eventually, the 25-year-old striker moved to Turkish side Galatasaray on a season-long loan, and he’s been doing well for them, tallying two goals and dishing out two assists in three league games.

Meanwhile, Napoli have also been in top form under Conte, having lost just one league game—their Serie A opener against Hellas Verona—and currently sitting atop the league table.
Denis compares Osimhen and Lukaku

Speaking during Napoli’s 3-1 victory against Como on Friday, Denis expressed his skepticism on Osimhen’s compatibility in Conte’s style, stating that Lukaku is a superior choice.

“We saw a Lukaku in form, even if Conte knows perfectly well what he lacks. He is a Lukaku who is very generous, he plays for the team, yesterday he made two assists as an attacking midfielder.
Napoli was built to win, the squad is large and whoever is called upon always does well and this is important for a coach who knows he can count on the bench. This will make the difference.
Lukaku in place of Osimhen? I don’t know if Osimhen would have been as suitable for Napoli as Lukaku is with Conte. Napoli made the right choice,” the Argentine said in quotes revealed by Tribal Football.
Meanwhile, Osimhen is currently injured and is sidelined for international duties. However, the Nigerian striker recently gave an update on his situation, stating when he would return.
