Maduka Okoye has revealed that Italian giants Inter made approach to lure him to Milan in the summer but were turned off by Udinese demands.
The 25-year-old was impressive in goal for Udinese, after claiming the No.1 position from Marco Silvestri, who was the first choice for more than two seasons.
Okoye had a difficult start to life in Italy following his arrival from English club Watford in the summer of 2023 but before the end of the season, he had established himself as the undisputed start, and his performances caught the eyes of Inter scouts.

The Nigerian goalkeeper said to Transfermark;
“The interest from Inter was concrete, but Udinese were asking for €15 million to buy me,” Okoye told Transfermark.
“It would’ve been a dream, but I don’t regret how things went. I’m happy to be the number one here.”
Okoye is back in Nigeria to honour the invitation to the national team for the AFCON qualifiers against Libya in the coming days. After admitting to what might have been, he is now looking forward to the future with Udinese.

“I want to stay in Italy. I like this land, the people, and the atmosphere. My focus is on Udinese, and I don’t see myself leaving in January.”
Inter has signed Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez as an alternative from Genoa, and he will be the understudy to Yann Sommer, who remains the No.1 until the foreseeable future.
