Segun Odegbami Call’s for a Long-Term Solution
The concern that engulged everyone is not only for Fregene’s sake, but also a major problem—Nigeria’s treatment of retired athletes.
He called for the welfare programme to be uncomplicated and capable of catering for aging athletes, lamenting, “Their stories are ugly and shameful.”
His plea acts as a reminder that many sports heroes in Nigeria are suffering after their cases and he called on the government to look into the welfare of sports persons.
