Former Premier League star found dead in the pool in his residence

According to Greek media, his wife, who lives in England, was trying to reach him but couldn’t and became concerned. Subsequently, she notified the owner of the Glyfada, Athens, residence to check the premises, wherein he was purportedly discovered deceased in the swimming pool.

Later in the evening, police were seen outside his house and are currently conducting an investigation.
Before becoming well-known for Sheffield United, he played for Oxford United, Tamworth, and Northampton Town after graduating from MK Dons’ junior system.
He stared for the Blades between 2017 and 2024, appearing in over 219 games and going by the moniker “Furious George” for his aggressive, all-action style.
The full-back moved from the Yorkshire-based outfit to Panathinaikos this summer after seven years with the club. This season, he had made four appearances for the Greek side, three of which were in the league, with his most recent appearance against Olympiacos on October 6.
Baldock’s demise comes as a huge shock to the football world, as many flooded the internet paying tribute to the defender, including Manchester United defender Harry Maguire, who graduated through the Blades youth team before leaving in 2014.
