Super Eagles interim coach Augustine Eguavoen believes Ademola Lookman has what it takes to be considered a world-class player.
Lookman has continued his impressive performance from last season, having recorded three goals and three assists for Atalanta in this campaign.

The 26-year-old, who has had incredible success for both club and country, is the only player from Africa competing for the men’s Ballon d’Or.

Eguavoen on Lookman’s status

Eguavoen believes the former Fulham winger 2017 FIFA U20 World Cup winners have always been world-class players who can still improve.
According to Allnigeriasoccer, the 59-year-old coach said,
“Not only this year, Ademola Lookman has always been an enterprising player from his youth level in England, and all of that, I am not surprised. If you are surprised, I am not surprised.
“He is still very young, he is still got a lot of progress ahead of him. So I think he’s got everything that it takes to be a world (class) player and he is proving that.”

Lookman’s impressive performance in the previous AFCON tournament, which included three goals, one assist, and a nomination for the Team of the Tournament, played a crucial role in leading the Super Eagles to the final.
The 27-year-old attacker will hope to maintain his incredible form as he aims to help the Super Eagles secure a victory over the Mediterranean Knights at Godswill Akpabio Stadium on Friday evening.
