Despite the 2024-2025 season being only 7-8 games in, a newly released chat reveals Europe’s best players so far.
The list was compiled using Sofascore’s accumulated scores, for the season, with three Premier League stars making the cut.
Several superstars have delivered standout performances, with Erling Haaland continuing his goal-scoring heroics and Cole Palmer emerging in his second season at Chelsea as one of the game’s fastest-rising talents.

5. Erling Haaland (8.06)

Haaland is surprisingly ranked fifth based on Sofascore’s accumulated rating, contrary to what many would have expected. The Norwegian would have easily topped everyone’s list if a poll were taken but he is the least ranked player on this list.
However, he is still the most dangerous goal scorer in the world, having scored 10 Premier League goals this season, including back-to-back hat-tricks.
Those who have predicted that Haaland will win the Golden Boot for a third time in a row thus far appear to have been well on target, as the Man City player leads the league in goals scored by four goals already and shows no signs of slowing down.
4. Achraf Hakimi (8.05)

The only defender to feature in the top five, Hakimi is deserving of his No 4 pick, as he enters his fourth year with Paris Saint-Germain.
The Moroccan is recognized as one of Europe’s best defenders during his time in France, and he has helped the team to the top of the Ligue 1 table during what many predict will be the most competitive season yet.
PSG hasn’t given up more than one goal in any fixture Hakimi has played this season, with a 2-0 loss against Arsenal in the Champions League being an unusual low.
3. Cole Palmer (8.14)

Palmer’s rise to stardom has been one to marvel at. The former Manchester City star took the world by storm in his debut season for Chelsea, and has continued in that light so far this campaign.
This season he has racked up six goals and five assists in seven Premier League games, in addition to scoring four first half goals in Chelsea’s victory against Brighton.
He was recently named as England’s Player of the Year and will now hope his performances will reward him with more regular Three Lions minutes.
2. Florian Wirtz (8.17)

With six goals and one assist in all competitions thus far this season, Wirtz is drawing a lot of interest from Premier League and other European teams who are eager to sign him.
Although Wirtz, 21, is still growing and will eventually overcome his shortcomings, he is fast emerging as one of Europe’s most potent and elegant finishers, as evidenced by his recent call-up to the German national team.
1. Bukayo Saka (8.23)
