‘I spent many nights crying’ – Manchester United destroyer speaks on failed Chelsea move

Manchester United destroyer Samu Omorodion has lift the lid on his disappointment after a failed move to Chelsea from his former club Atletico Madrid in the summer.
The Span Under-21 striker joined FC Porto in a €15 million deal, witj the La Liga club also entitled to 50 percent on future sale, which is currently at €50 million given his €100 million release clause at the Portuguese club.
Omorodion has hit the ground running in Portugal with seven goals in seven games, including a brace against English club Manchester United in their UEFA Europa League meeting earlier in the month.

The 20-year-old has now expressed his disappointment after his move to Chelsea failed in the summer.

In a recent interview with Marca, Samu Omorodion talked about his experience after the move to Chelsea failed to materialize :
“At Atlético Madrid, I spent many nights crying. My family and my mother also struggled. I was training separately. I didn’t feel like a part of the team, not like a footballer. I was training, and my mind was telling me otherwise. It was tough.”
Samu Omorodion never played a single game for Atletico Madrid since joining from Granada in 2023. He spent last season at Alaves, scoring eight goals in 38 games.
