Former Argentina striker, Sergio Aguero, has taken legal action against Barcelona over €3 million in unpaid wages, which stem from his 2021 contract termination, according to ESPN.
Agüero, who joined Barcelona in 2021 after leaving Manchester City, is still seeking the money owed to him, as confirmed by a report sent to the club’s members.

Sergio Aguero’s Legal Battle Over Unpaid Wages
Agüero signed a two-year deal with Barcelona but unfortunately had to retire after making just five appearances for the club.

His retirement came as a result of heart complications he experienced during a LaLiga match against Alavés, leading him to announce his retirement in December 2021.
Despite agreeing to terminate his contract early, the club still owes him the €3 million, and the matter has since gone to court.
According to Barcelona’s financial accounts for the 2023-24 season, Agüero initiated legal proceedings earlier this year to recover the unpaid sum.
The legal battle is ongoing, and the club has yet to resolve the issue with their former player.
Agüero’s case adds to Barcelona’s financial challenges as they continue to navigate their well-documented economic struggles.
