Super Eagles left-back Bruno Onyemaechi has aimed a dig at Friday’s opponents, Libya, branding them the new dark art Lords.
The word ‘dark art’ gained more prominence a few weeks back after the Manchester City vs. Arsenal game, where the Gunners were accused of employing all sorts of unsportsmanlike strategies, including delay tactics, and feigning injuries to get desired results from the encounter.
Same was seen on Friday, when the Super Eagles of Nigeria hosted the Mediterranean Knights of Libya at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.

Super Eagles hard-fought victory over Libya
Nigeria, 39th in the FIFA World Rankings, were clear favourites going into the clash against the visitors, who are 92 spots lower.
With three points being the objective for the Super Eagles, Libya proved a hard nut to crack, putting up a resolute defensive display while also employing delay tactics to get at least a draw.
However, the visitors’ strategy faltered in the 87th minute, when substitute Fisayo Dele Bashiru calmly finished a well-weighted cross from Moses Simon, delivering crucial three points to the three-time AFCON champions and a fifth consecutive victory over Libya.
Super Eagles star Onyemaechi urges CAF to hand Libya time wasting award
After the hard-fought victory, defender Onyeamachi is convinced that their opponents deserve special recognition for their antics, as he playfully urged CAF to hand Libya an award for time wasting.
“Important 3 points. Omo caf suppose give them award on wasting time,” Onyemaechi wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
