Manchester United legend, Gary Neville, has expressed his regret over the club’s decision to sell Danny Welbeck, stating that the forward is currently in better form than all of United’s present attackers.
Welbeck, who came through the ranks at United’s academy, made 142 appearances for the club and was a part of the last Manchester United squad to lift the Premier League trophy under Sir Alex Ferguson.

Manchester United Made a Mistake Selling Danny Welbeck – Gary Neville
Neville, speaking recently, pointed out that Welbeck’s departure in 2014 was a big loss for United, especially now when he’s proving his quality elsewhere.

Welbeck, at the time, grew frustrated with his limited game-time and sought more playing opportunities, which led to his transfer to Arsenal for £16 million.
Since then, Welbeck has continued to make a significant impact, and Neville believes his presence could have benefitted United in their current struggles upfront.
Gary Neville concluded by saying United should have kept faith in their academy product, who had the ability and hunger to deliver consistently.
“He’s in better form than any of the United front players, by far.
“Danny Welbeck, to be fair, should never have been let go at United,” Neville said on Stick to Football with Sky Bet
