The former Villarreal man is not pictured with his teammates, who are stranded at the Al Abraq Airport for more than 15 hours between Sunday and Monday, where they are literally held hostage by Libyan authorities.
Chukwueze, who has made 33 appearances for the national team, scoring five goals, returns to AC Milan to continue his recovery from a hamstring injury picked up in the game with Libya.
In his absence, opportunities will be given to other players, like Chidera Ejuke, who has been one of the country’s best winger in Europe so far this season.
