Super Eagles veteran defender, Leon Balogun, has called on the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to take serious action against the Libyan authorities for their treatment of the Nigerian team upon their arrival on Sunday.
The Super Eagles were initially scheduled to land in Benghazi, but their flight was unexpectedly diverted to another location.
Upon arriving at the Al Abaq Airport, the team and officials were left stranded for several hours, as no transportation was provided to take them to Benghazi, which is over two hours away.

CAF Must Investigate – Leon Balogun
Leon Balogun, clearly frustrated by the situation, took to social media to voice his displeasure and demand accountability.
“Hey @CAF_Online – surely you’re going to investigate thoroughly and take action, right? Whoever is responsible for this needs to be held accountable. This is unacceptable,” Balogun tweeted, making his frustration known.
The Super Eagles are set to face Libya in the second leg of their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying match on Tuesday. This comes after Nigeria’s 1-0 victory in the first leg last Friday, with Fisayo Dele-Bashiru scoring the crucial goal.
