A Historic Win for Samson Dauda on the Olympia Stage
The 60th edition of the Mr. Olympia competition took place at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada, United States, on Saturday, October 12, during the 2024 Olympia weekend.
Samson Dauda stood out among 17 top competitors, including two former champions, Derek Lunsford from the USA and Hadi Choopan from Iran.
Hadi Choopan managed to secure second place, while the reigning 2023 champion, Derek Lunsford, was relegated to third. For his impressive victory, Dauda took home a cash prize of $600,000, along with the championship belt and trophy.
Notably, another Nigerian, Andrew Jacked, also participated in the competition and performed well, finishing in fifth place. This victory not only highlights Dauda’s personal achievement but also showcases the rising prominence of Nigerian athletes in the global bodybuilding scene.
