Real Madrid will look to explore opportunities in the winter transfer window due to the injuries within the squad and have set their sights on former Manchester City defender Aymeric Laporte amongst other options.
Los Blancos will be without David Alaba, whose return date is not yet known after he is confirmed as not fit enough to even train as he tries to recover from a criciate ligament injury. The Austrian has been ruled out for the year.
Dani Carvajal, out of the season, Eder Militao, in and out, can also both not be counted on heading into the second-half of the campaign so the club will look to add one or more defenders in January.

Real Madrid eyes defensive reinforcements
According to Spanish journalist Mario Cortegana, Real Madrid has made a shortlist of three center backs and Aymeric Laporte topples it at the moment.
Brazilian youngster Vitor Reis and Castello Lukeba of RB Leipzig are also both in that list.
Real Madrid also considers adding a right-back in the absence of Dani Carvajal, who is sidelined for the remainder of the season and have identified Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jeremie Frimpong and Pedro Porro.
However, these deals will not be easy to pull off in January, although, not many can say no when Real Madrid comes calling.
