Paul Pogba has lifted the lid on his once-sweet-turned-sour relationship with José Mourinho during their time at Manchester United.
The midfielder played under the Portuguese manager at United between 2016 and 2018.

During an interview with the Daily Mail, Pogba claimed that the pair frequently had fallouts but would quickly work things out.
“Our relationship was like boyfriend and girlfriend, we were breaking up and making up all the time.
“It started great, he was one of the reasons I went back to Manchester because I spoke to him and he convinced me to come back.
“I don’t know why it turned into a nightmare and us fighting. Because I wasn’t fighting. I didn’t start the fight.
“We disagreed like managers and players do sometimes. But there’s a lot of respect from me to him.
“If I see him tomorrow it’s a big hug! But one day we will have to sit down together and discuss it.”

While Pogba claims that he did not start the fight, Mourinho had asserted that the midfielder changed after he won the World Cup in 2018.
The 61-year-old manager was responsible for bringing Pogba to United in 2016.
While at the club, they clashed numerous times, most notably in 2018, after the Frenchman was seen posting on social media during a game that he missed, which sparked a reaction from the manager.
Mourinho later departed United in that same year, while the 2018 World Cup winner also left the club for a second spell with Juventus four years later—a return that was marred by a ban after the midfielder tested positive for a prohibited substance.
His suspension was recently reduced from four and a half years to 18 months, which is expected to expire by January.
Meanwhile, Mourinho currently coaches Fenerbahçe, following spells at Tottenham and Roma.
