Kobbie Mainoo has received a huge blow after a hamstring injury has ruled him out for around a month.
The injury occurred during Manchester United’s 3-0 loss to Tottenham Hotspur and could see the gifted 19-year-old clear out of United’s squad for the remainder of the season.
Mainoo, who withdrew from the England squad last week, faces up to seven matches and will now miss the Premier League opener against Brentford.
Crucial Fixtures Missed
Kobbie Mainoo is set for at least seven matches sidelined having picked up an injury in Manchester United’s draw to Aston Villa, and will begin by missing this weekend’s Premier League game against Brentford at Old Trafford, according to The Times.
He will be missing for a crucial Europa League match against Fenerbahce, as well as important fixtures. He could be fit again as early as November or as soon as next weekend, when his comeback for Ipswich Town is possible.

Manchester United Growing Injury Concerns
Only another worry for Manchester United as Mainoo becomes the latest injury. Another key midfielder, Manuel Ugarte, is also struggling with a thigh problem suffered during the international break and is in doubt for Brentford.
It means Ten Hag has few midfield options and calls upon veterans Christian Eriksen and Casemiro to deal with Brentford’s pacing counterattacks.
Other players such as Mason Mount and Luke Shaw are also rehabilitating but are unavailable for selection too.
With United scrambling through this major injury crisis, they will be hoping for speedy recoveries for Mainoo and the rest of their sidelined players to get themselves back on track.
