Galatasaray head coach Okan Buruk has dismissed rumours linking the club with Nigerian defender Bright Osayi-Samuel.
The full-back, who is in the final year of his contract with Fenerbahce, had been speculated to be on Galatasaray’s radar, as well as attracting interest from French side Lille.

Osayi-Samuel, formerly of Queens Park Rangers, turned down a new contract with Fenerbahce this summer, reportedly seeking a higher salary.

The full-back is seeking both a salary increase and a four-year contract extension, but Fenerbahce considered his demands too high. As a result, the club decided to postpone negotiations, aiming to keep his salary under two million euros, as per Fanatik.
Although the Fernebahce does not want to lose one of their most reliable players, failure to reach a consensus before his contract expiration would see the 26-year-old leave on a free transfer.
What Buruk said on Galatasaray’s links with Osayi Samuel
Buruk, who recently welcomed another Nigerian, Victor Osimhen, to the club, however, has firmly denied any interest from Galatasaray in signing Osayi-Samuel, quelling speculation about the Super Lig champions targeting their city rivals’ defender.
“So far, we have had no contact or talks with Bright Osayi-Samuel. We are not currently working on a transfer, ” he was quoted by TV 100.
