Victor Osimhen made the headlines after scoring an incredible acrobatic goal last Saturday as Galatasaray defeated Antalyaspor 3-0 at the Corendon Airlines Park Antalya Stadium.
The Nigerian international sealed the Lions’ victory after coming off the bench to replace Mauro Icardi in the 78th minute with a goal that will be remembered for years.

Osimhen’s bicycle kick goal 0.06 away from reaching Ronaldo’s record
According to reports from Turkish media, including NTV, Osimhen’s goal is one of just two overhead kicks in the history of world football to surpass the 2.30-meter height limit.
However, the record is still held by Real Madrid icon Cristiano Ronaldo, whose overhead kick during the Champions League quarterfinal matchup against Juventus in April 2018 reached 2.38 meters.
Osimhen had previously surpassed one of the Portuguese legend’s records before this near-miss.
While playing for Napoli, the 25-year-old striker broke Ronaldo’s previous record of 2.56 meters to become Serie A’s “jump king” with a leap of 2.58 meters in a 3-0 victory over Spezia.
Having missed Galatasaray’s previous two matches due to a muscle strain sustained against Kasimpasa on September 28, which also saw him excluded from Nigeria’s squad for their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Libya, Osimhen returned in style.
Reflecting on his goal, the reigning African Footballer of the Year explained that letting the ball bounce gave him an advantage as the defender closed in.
Osimhen has enjoyed a brilliant start to his Galatasaray career, notching six goal contributions in five matches.
