“I dedicate the goal I scored to my coach [Okan Buruk]. Today was his birthday,” Osimhen said after the game, according to Nexus Sports.
Reflecting on the quality of his strike, the former Lille man hinted at its potential, suggesting it could be a Puskás Award contender.
”I scored a goal that could be a candidate for the Puskas award. Maybe it could be the first, why not?,” he added.
Earlier, the Nigerian forward had a goal ruled out for offside, but in the 90th minute, he made amends with an acrobatic finish that left the fans mesmerised and secured all three points for Galatasaray.
Okan Buruk praised the goal post-match, describing it as an “outstanding goal” that showcases the league’s talent to the world.
