Former Fenerbahçe star Abdullah Ercan has pointed out the unfair advantage Galatasaray possess with the addition of Victor Osimhen to Okan Buruk’s already potent attacking lineup, which features Mauro Icardi.
The Nigerian international joined Icardi in Turkey after a transfer dispute with Napoli, arriving on a season-long loan.
Since his move, the Super Eagles striker has been in fine form for the Istanbul-based club, recently netting a Puskas-worthy goal in Galatasaray’s match against Antalyaspor.

Ercan on Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi
Speaking on A Spor, Ercan expressed his views on the duo, claiming their partnership creates an unfair challenge for other teams in the Super Lig.
“Mauro Icardi and Victor Osimhen in Galatasaray are an unfair competition for the Super League,” he stated.
Meanwhile, Osimhen has acknowledged Icardi as a legend in the game and has previously commented on his collaboration with both Icardi and Michy Batshuayi.
“Icardi is a legend of this game. Batshuayi is also a deadly player. I have things to learn from them; we will cooperate. We will improve each other’s quality,” Osimhen said after Galatasaray’s impressive 5-0 victory over Rizespor some weeks back.
As his season-long loan continues until June 2025, the Nigerian forward aims to make a significant impact at Galatasaray.
