Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has expressed a deep affection for England international John Stones, likening their relationship to that of a father and son, according to Independent.
Stones was one of the first players Guardiola signed after arriving at the club in 2016, bringing the defender from Everton.
Over the years, Stones has evolved into a central figure within the Manchester City squad, consistently delivering solid performances and playing a key role in the team’s successes.

Pep Guardiola and John Stones Relationship
Guardiola’s connection with Stones appears to go beyond just a professional relationship, as he has grown to understand the player on a more personal level.
In a recent interview, Guardiola spoke highly of Stones, revealing just how much he values the player both on and off the field.
“John looks like he was my son. I know his body language and everything about him. He’s one of the most adorable professionals,” Guardiola said.
Despite Stones’ importance to the team, Guardiola explained that his recent absences from the starting lineup were not due to a lack of quality or fitness.
Instead, it was simply a case of other players, such as Ruben Dias and Manuel Akanji, being in exceptional form.
“The only reason he wasn’t in was because Ruben and Manu were in incredible form,” Pep Guardiola added.
