Nigeria’s Super Eagles rise 3 places in the newest FIFA men’s world rankings to 36th. Under interim coach Augustine Eguavoen, the team is on the rise again.
The Super Eagles were previously ranked 39th in the last FIFA men’s world rankings released in September, as revealed by Sports Buddy.
Rise in African Rankings
The Super Eagles moved from sixth to fourth place in Africa, behind Morocco (13th global), Senegal (20th), and Egypt (30th).
That jump sees Nigeria leap ahead of 2023 AFCON winners Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia, who have also dropped out of the continent’s top five.
Upcoming AFCON Qualifiers
Nigeria’s opponents Benin Republic dropped to 95th, Rwanda climbed to 126th, and Libya to 122nd ahead of their AFCON 2025 qualifiers.
The Super Eagles have been on a roll since Eguavoen took over, a momentum that has seen them improve their ranking while Ghana and South Africa struggle.
