Hat-trick hero Folashade Ijamilusi has expressed her gratitude towards Super Falcons stand-in captain and teammate Rasheedat Ajibade for her performance in the 4-1 win over Algeria on Tuesday.
Ijamilusi made a massive statement on her return to international assignment after a long time away, scoring a brace in the first-half and and completing her hat-trick later in the game to seal a domineering performance for Justin Magudu’s ladies.

Speaking to Brilla FM after the match, the star of the day was full of gratitude to God, coaches and her teammates.

“I feel so good… for me scoring the three goals, and all thanks to God and also to the coaches for giving me the privilege and also to my wonderful teammates for their efforts, I’m so grateful to God.” She told Brila FM.

Ijamilusi, amidst her delight credited her performance to Ajibade for motivating her to seize the opportunity on a rare start. She said;
“Let me say from Rash [eedat Ajibade], she told me they [the Algerian women] will want to go for her and that I should take it. Then I used the opportunity.”
Ajibade bagged a brace in the first meeting between the two teams in Ikenne on Saturday, which Nigeria won 2-0, while Gift Monday scored Nigeria’s other goal on Tuesday, with Ouassila Alouache grabbing a consolation for Algeria with their only goal of the tie.
