Super Eagles goalkeeper Maduka Okoye has reached a new career milestone as his market value jumps to €7.5 million in the latest Transfermarkt report.
It is the highest valuation Udinese shot-stopper has ever fetched, with his steady rise since his debut for the Super Eagles.

Super Eagles Star to Fortuna Düsseldorf
Born in Germany, Okoye first caught the eye when he made his Nigeria bow in a 2019 friendly against Brazil. His value back then was €150,000, and he was trying to make a name for himself at Fortuna Düsseldorf.
A 2020 transfer to Sparta Rotterdam was the breakthrough for him, which made him Nigeria’s first choice goalkeeper and raised his market value to €1 million.
Okoye, who recently named the Brazilian goalkeeping icon as his idol, made Watford history with a €5 million move to the club in January 2022, a record transfer fee for a Super Eagles goalkeeper.
But he was rarely given a runout in the Championship, and, in August 2023, Watford sold him to sister club Udinese for €6 million.
In Leading Udinese’s Survival Efforts

Okoye has since become a first choice for Udinese. Last season he was key to their battle to avoid relegation and remains Udinese’s first choice, with three clean sheets and 11 goals conceded in nine Serie A matches.
Okoye may have lost his starting berth for the Super Eagles to Stanley Nwabali, but he is still a key asset for Udinese.

Africa’s Elite Goalkeepers

Africa’s fourth most valuable goalkeeper behind Cameroon’s André Onana (€35m), Morocco’s Bono (€9m), and Senegal’s Edouard Mendy (€8m) is Okoye.
Okoye’s market worth of €7.5 million went a long way to emphasize that he is an individual on the rise and also one of Africa’s best talents.
