However, he took his chance well when selected in the starting line up during Wednesday’s Copa del Rey game, marking his debut in the competition with a brace at Estadio Navalcarbón.
An early goal from Luis Méndez put Sevilla ahead before Iheanacho doubled the lead in the 60th minute, tapping in after Juan Sánchez’s clever play.
The former Manchester City forward then struck again in the 79th minute, showing quick reactions to finish after Gerard Fernández’s shot was blocked.
