Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville is standing by his pre-season prediction that Arsenal will lift the Premier League title, despite the team’s rocky start.
Speaking at Old Trafford after Manchester United’s 1-1 draw with Chelsea on Sunday, Neville doubled down on his forecast, even as Arsenal’s recent performances raise doubts.
The weekend’s results left Arsenal reeling from a narrow 1-0 loss to Newcastle, while defending champions Manchester City also suffered a surprise defeat to Bournemouth.
These upsets have seen Liverpool seize the top spot, sitting two points above City and a significant seven points ahead of fifth-placed Arsenal.

Gary Neville Still Believes in Arsenal
Yet, speaking on Sky Sports, Gary Neville remains confident in Arsenal’s title potential.
“I still have Arsenal winning the Premier League title,” he said.
“I might look completely and utterly stupid. People may replay this in a few months and wonder what I was thinking, but a title-winning team often needs to experience some tough setbacks.”
Acknowledging Arsenal’s slow start, Neville added,
“They could hit a strong run of form, get their players back, and become very dangerous.” His faith in Arsenal suggests he believes resilience, not perfection, defines champions.
