Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou addressed the media on Wednesday, previewing his team’s Europa League match against Galatasaray in Istanbul.
Facing questions about how Spurs would handle Galatasaray’s in-form strike partnership of Victor Osimhen and Mauro Icardi, Postecoglou acknowledged the threat the duo poses, given their impressive 16 goal involvements this season.
Galatasaray’s Potent Attack and Spurs’ Strong Form
Both Tottenham and Galatasaray enter the tie in strong form, with the London side boasting a 100% record in the Europa League and the Turkish champions winning all but one of their games so far.
Galatasaray shares the top spot for goals scored in the competition, alongside Lazio, each having netted nine times. Icardi has contributed two goals, while Osimhen, despite recent fitness issues, has assisted twice, both against PAOK Thessaloniki with accurate headers.

Postecoglou’s Perspective on Facing Top Players
When asked about handling the combined firepower of Icardi and Osimhen, Postecoglou noted Galatasaray’s quality while emphasizing Tottenham’s experience with high-caliber opponents in the Premier League.
“As I said, very good team, very, very good individual players, but that’s what you expect when you play against top European sides,” he stated.
“Obviously we play in the Premier League, so we’re facing top opponents every week, so we understand what that’s about and top individual players, but again it’s a good test for us tomorrow.”
Victor Osimhen’s Fitness Remains Uncertain
Galatasaray’s hopes rest on Osimhen’s availability, with the Nigerian striker scheduled for a late fitness test following recent injury concerns.
His presence could provide a significant boost to Galatasaray’s attack against a Tottenham side eager to maintain their winning streak in the Europa League.
