Jamie Redknapp Blasts Man City’s Performance
Speaking on Sky Sports post-match, Redknapp didn’t hold back in assessing City’s struggles, particularly in the second half.
“That is one of the worst halves of football I have seen from a Pep Guardiola team,” Redknapp remarked.
“They were abject; they didn’t defend, they failed to win individual battles, and they missed key forward passes at crucial times.”
Redknapp acknowledged that City looked strong in the first half but noted a significant drop after Brighton’s manager, Karsten Hurzeler, made tactical substitutions.
“In the first half, they were excellent. But in the second half, after Hurzeler’s changes, there was only one team that looked likely to win,” he added.
The game saw City take an early lead, but Brighton’s resilience paid off with two second-half goals from Joao Pedro and Matt O’Riley, securing a comeback victory for the hosts.
