Liverpool defender Ibrahima Konate has revealed a part of Kylian Mbappe’s life he does not envy, despite the Real Madrid star being one of the biggest football talents of this era.
Mbappe fulfilled his longtime dream of playing for Madrid, securing a free transfer to the Spanish giants after an illustrious career with Paris Saint Germain.
However, the 25-year-old forward has experienced a mixed start at the Bernabeu. Despite scoring eight goals and providing two assists in 16 appearances for Madrid, including winning his first European trophy—the UEFA Super Cup—Mbappe has struggled in recent times, failing the back of the net in his last four games for the club, and this has drawn criticisms from fans, who have questioned the reasoning behind signing the forward into an already balanced Madrid attack.

Things do not appear rosy for the French captain on the national side either, who finds himself in the midst of controversies surrounding his omission from the newly released France squad list, and this has sparked speculations about a rift with head coach Diddier Deschamps.
Konate’s message to Mbappe
Konate has now come out in support of the Mbappe, expressing sympathy for the Madrid attacker and acknowledging the huge pressure he faces.
“When he is with us, everyone is around him. Mbappe’s position in today’s world is exceptional. I often tell him: ‘I want your level of football, but I don’t want your life’. Because, frankly, it is difficult to bear having your name everywhere, for everything you do,” Konate said via Goal.
France will face Israel and Italy for their Nations League encounters, with Mbappe missing out from the squad for a second consecutive international break.
