Super Eagles star Kelechi Iheanacho was allegedly involved in a confrontation with Sevilla fan at the car park after the team’s 1-0 loss to Leganés on Sunday.
The Nigerian striker has endured a tough start to life in Seville since his free transfer in the summer, failing to find the back of the net in all seven of his league appearances for his new club, including in last weekend’s defeat, where he featured for 73 minutes.

Fan accuses Iheanacho of confrontation following team’s defeat
According to Estadio Deportivo, Alvaro Palmero, a Sevilla fan, claimed that after the loss, he and his friend confronted Iheanacho at the parking lot, questioning his attitude, having found the striker laughing with a club employee and a friend.
Palmero alleged that the player did not ignore them but instead got involved in an altercation with them, and it was only the restraint of his companions that prevented the situation from escalating.
The fan, frustrated by the team’s recent form, wrote on Twitter,
“We travelled almost 800 kilometres so that a guy who is not even in shape does not know how to shut up when it’s time, and show the balls he can’t show on the pitch.
“More respect for the only ones who defend the Sevilla FC shield properly.”
The altercation comes as Iheanacho travels to Abidjan for the Super Eagles’ pivotal Africa Cup of Nations qualifying matches against Rwanda and Benin.
To guarantee their spot in the AFCON competition, which will take place in Morocco in 2025, the Super Eagles simply need to win one of these games, and the Sevilla attacker will hope to play a key role to help the national team achieve this.
