Former Ligue 1 top scorer and France International Wissam Ben Yedder has been sentenced to two-year in prison and told to pay fines worth €11,500 having been found guilty of sexual assault whilst intoxicated.
The striker, who left AS Monaco at the end of his contract in the summer has remained a free agent and currently resides in the United Kingdom.
Ben Yedder, who won the Ligue 1 top scorer in the 2020-21 season was charged by prosecutors in Nice, on charges of sexual assault in a state of inebriation in September.
The 34-year-old haa previously been charged for a rape, attempted rape and sexual assault alongside his brother in a case involving two women in the summer of 2023.

Former Ligue 1 striker Wissam Ben Yedder gets jail term
Having been found guilty as charged, the former Sevilla striker is suspended with a two-year prison sentence while he is to pay €6,500 to the victim and another €5,000 fine.
The Frenchman has also been handed a six month ban on his drivers licence.
