Victor Osimhen has been identified as a solution to Arsenal’s attacking struggles, as former Gunners captain Williams Gallas urges the club to make a move for the Nigerian striker in the January transfer window.
Several teams, including Arsenal and Chelsea, were interested in the Napoli loanee last summer, but the Italian team’s asking price of almost €130 million was too much for the interested parties.
Osimhen eventually secured a loan deal with Galatasaray, where he has proven to be a valuable addition, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 9 appearances across all competitions for the Turkish side.
Arsenal, on the other hand, have struggled in attack this season, with Kai Havertz, who is the club’s highest goal scorer, netting seven times in 17 appearances for the Gunners this season across all competitions.

Gallas names Osimhen as perfect fit for Arsenal
While Havertz’s numbers have been quite decent filling in the number 9 role, Gallas believes Osimhen is a perfect fit for Mikel Arteta’s attack.
“If I could sign one player for Arsenal in January, it would be a world-class striker… I wanted to speak about Osimhen because I know he’s at Galatasaray, and I still don’t understand why he’s there. That’s the type of profile Arsenal need. They need a player with that pedigree, Gallas told Goal.
The former French defender suggested the North London club need a player of Osimhen’s profile who defenders would fear, stating that even if if he does not score lots of goals, his presence would improve the performances of players around him.
”Maybe he won’t score 20 goals in the season, but he will scare defenders, he will give them a hard time, and that will give the opportunity for players around him to score goals,” he added.
It’s unlikely that Arsenal will be able to make a January move for Osimhen, as he has stated that he will finish his loan with Galatasaray, shutting out a winter transfer.
